Welcome to BeerWriters.com
We hope BeerWriters.com will become a sort of central "clearing house" for people who read about beer to find people who write about beer.
We are just getting started and have lot's of things to do yet so please be a gentle with us.
We have a "Suggest a Site" form where you can suggest beer related RSS feeds to be included. We have to check the sites in question because anybody who has run a web site for more than 15 minutes knows the spam problem out there.
There is also a small forum section for your use if you want. Mostly we hope to be a "Go Between" as I said.
Welcome

It’s not often you see any professional sports team co-branded with beer that isn’t from a massive brewery. That is- until now. The San Francisco Giants have teamed up with Anchor to release branded 12 pack (seen above). Sold in Giants territory of course.
BRACEBRIDGE, ON – The owners of the Griffin Gastropub have announced details for this year’s edition of their annual Muskoka beer festival.
Now known as Session Muskoka – a re-branding to bring it in line with their annual Toronto event – this year’s festival will take place once again at Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge, but with a shift from the customary late August date to Saturday August 3rd from 1:00 PM to 7:00...
A new trend among teens and college students has come forth – pressurizing alcohol bottles and inhaling the vapor aka smoking alcohol. This dangerous method allows alcohol’s pure ethanol to be directly inhaled and introduced to the brain and bloodstream allowing for rapid intoxication without consuming calories. This can cause damage to the lung tissue, and when your body decides you’re too drunk and tries to expel the alcohol you consumed, well this could get ugly.
We may not be the best role models, but we do know that you’re doing it wrong.
The Brauerei Gasthof Lohof has possibly been a brewery, once upon a time. Now it is one of a number of inns and restaurants run by the the Schlossbrauerei Haimhausen, of which I have no objection. The brewery is not far away, so it is a very local setup. Von die Heimat for die Heimat – From the community for the community is their slogan.
It was almost 30 degrees in the sahde, so I did not venture inside, but found a seat in the beer garden. A half liter of Helles slides down without any...

Last week we threw a curve ball and featured not a beer but a series of Meads form our pal Michael Fairbrother at Moonlight Meadery. With many mead makers having their roots in home brewing, we thought it was a perfect fit to coincide with the AHA Homebrewing Conference coming in Philly. We also simply loved the meads Michael sent us and really enjoyed sampling them. Try Moonlight Meadery for yourself.
So what will we be sampling this week? Hint: If all the stars align this week, we will welcome our biggest guest EVER on the...
I’m of the humble opinion that Deschutes Brewery (Bend, OR) makes some of the best barrel aged beer in America. Green Monster hopes to be no exception. Born from an accident that they brewery will soon elaborate on, the monster is a mistake turned tasty.
This 7% creature is aged in wine barrels that comes with the tagline – Mistakes happen, Monsters are born…. Lucky Us. Is it luck? We will soon see.
Here’s a new one from Rock Art brewed for the Woodstock Farmers Market and this one is called Farmer’s Simcoe IPA. This Simcoe single-hop brew will be packaged in 22oz bottles and come in at 6% ABV and 40 IBU.

While this blogger is soaking up the cask ales of England and sour beers of Belgium for a couple of weeks, please enjoy these “Best Of” posts. This was originally posted on January 19th, 2011. I was way ahead of that whole “crafty” debate.
When I tell people that a big hobby of mine is craft beer (writing and drinking mainly, but also bathing in it occasionally), the question they are most likely to ask is, “What is craft beer?” This is a tricky question and one that is hotly debated to no real conclusion. It is actually something I hadn’t given much thought to until recently – it was something I had a picture...
